Connected accounts

A connected account lets you sign in through a provider you already use, with no Gigadrive password involved. Manage the links at account.gigadrive.de/connections.

Providers

GitLab is link-only. You can connect it so Gigadrive knows your GitLab identity, but you cannot sign in with it or use it to confirm a sensitive action. Use another method for that.

One connection per provider per account, and one Gigadrive account per provider account. Linking fails outright if either is already taken, rather than moving the link.

Linking

Choose Connect on the connections page. You are sent to the provider, you approve, and you return to the connections page with the connection and its reported identity listed.

The link is bidirectional in effect: once a provider is connected, its button on the sign-in screen signs you into this account.

What Gigadrive reads

The provider's user id, email address, username, display name, and picture, plus the raw profile payload the provider returned. Gigadrive also stores the access token, and the refresh token when one is issued, so a connection can be renewed without sending you back through the provider.

Whether the connection counts as verified follows what the provider says about the address it returned. A provider that reports an unverified email address is refused, and the link does not complete.

Unlinking

Choose Disconnect. Gigadrive refuses if the connection is the last way into your account, and answers "Add another sign-in method before disconnecting this one."

The count includes a password, every other linked provider, every passkey, and email verification. An authenticator app is not counted, because it confirms a sign-in rather than starting one. Add one of the others first, then disconnect.

Disconnecting removes the stored tokens and the profile snapshot. It does not revoke anything at the provider, so remove Gigadrive from the provider's own connected-apps list if you want the grant gone on that side too.
